The idea of “extending the deadline” may seem harmless, even well-intentioned at first glance—offering parties time to reassess and reopen negotiation channels. However, political reality teaches us that such deadlines are often used as tools to rearrange positions, rearm allies, and exhaust opponents psychologically and economically before delivering the next blow.

Trump, known for his unconventional policies, does not operate according to the logic of traditional diplomacy, but rather with the mindset of a businessman who views the world as one large deal. In this deal, there is no such thing as a “free ceasefire,” only precise calculations of profit and loss. Extending the deadline here does not mean stopping the bleeding; it may simply mean controlling the timing of the explosion.

What raises concern is that this extension could grant one side a golden opportunity to strengthen its military and political position, while forcing the other side to commit to terms that may restrict or weaken its negotiating power. As a result, a “temporary ceasefire” becomes a tool to reshape the balance of power rather than to end the conflict.

Even more dangerous is that this strategy creates an illusion of peace, making people believe that the end of the conflict is near, while reality is moving in the exact opposite direction. This illusion can be used to calm public opinion or to pass strategic decisions behind the scenes without provoking media backlash.

A deeper reading of this situation reveals that what is being presented is not a peace initiative, but rather a smart management of conflict. Modern wars are no longer decided solely by weapons, but by timing, political maneuvering, and the exploitation of every opportunity to weaken the opponent without firing a single bullet.

Therefore, it becomes essential for nations and peoples to approach such initiatives with extreme caution and not be deceived by glossy headlines. In international politics, a smile is often the prelude to a trap, and an “extension of the deadline” is frequently nothing more than a warrior’s rest before a more ferocious round.

It is, simply put, not a truce… but a naked plot.
