Media Personality Dr. Magdy Kamel ElHawary Writes :The UAE Persecutes Egyptians and Obstructs Their Residency Renewals in Preparation for Deportation.

The Egyptian community residing in the United Arab Emirates is experiencing growing concern and anger following recent decisions and procedures that many believe represent clear pressure and restrictions targeting Egyptians working on Emirati soil, whether regarding residency fees, renewal procedures, or even visa approvals.

According to complaints circulating among members of the Egyptian community, residency renewal fees for Egyptians have increased from approximately 1,200 dirhams to nearly 3,800 dirhams, while applicants are now required to provide a criminal record certificate costing an additional 220 dirhams. Added to this are health insurance fees, biometric fingerprint charges, and other administrative costs, bringing the total expenses in some cases close to 7,000 dirhams.

The matter has not stopped at rising fees alone. According to accounts shared within the community, intensive campaigns have also been launched to track down Egyptians violating residency laws and deport them immediately after arrest. This has reportedly included a widespread presence of investigation officers and security personnel, in scenes that many describe as reflecting a harsh and unusual treatment toward Egyptian workers who have contributed for decades to various sectors within the UAE.

Tourist visas and visit visas have also reportedly witnessed a sharp rise in rejection rates, which according to circulating estimates have reached nearly 92%, compared to very limited rejection rates in previous years. Procedures have become even more complicated with the requirement to provide a recent criminal record certificate authenticated by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy, adding further financial and administrative burdens on those seeking to travel or renew their legal status.

Many Egyptians working abroad are now asking:
Why is the Egyptian community being subjected to such pressure?
Why have procedures become increasingly difficult and complicated in recent months?
And is there an undeclared policy aimed at reducing the number of Egyptians residing in the UAE?

The Egyptian community has long been one of the largest Arab communities contributing to vital sectors in the UAE, including education, healthcare, engineering, media, trade, and services. Therefore, any decisions or practices that make Egyptians feel targeted or discriminated against naturally create widespread anger and resentment.

The most important question remains:
Are these measures simply part of labor market and residency regulations?
Or is there a new policy genuinely pushing toward removing Egyptians and reducing their presence inside the UAE?

Only the coming days may reveal the truth behind what is happening behind closed doors What do the United Arab Emirates, the Zionist, Indian, Filipino, and Asian Emirates, want from the Egyptians?
